Activity 1

You recently entered a competition and you have just received this email from the organizer of the competition. Read the email and the notes you have made. Then write an email replying to Tom Spiller, using all your notes.

Write an email (120-150 words). You must use grammatically correct sentences with accurate spelling and punctuation in a style appropriate for the situation.

TIPS

The email you are going to write could have five paragraphs. Number the following paragraph outlines in the best order.

Paragraph 1: thanks for letter and general remark

Paragraph 2:which month you want to travel

Paragraph 3: preferences for morning classes and afternoon activities Paragraph 4: request for further information

2. In your email, you have to expand the notes in the task into sentences and add your own ideas. Complete the following sentences.

Activity 2

Describe your favorite sport. Include details and examples to explain why you enjoy this sport.

TIPS

You should make an outline of what you are going to include in your writing.

The outline:

Sample writing:

My favorite sport is cricket. Cricket is a game which is very popular in Pakistan and India.

I play this game every Saturday. I play this game with my friends and we have a very good time at playing this game. The exciting part is that I am going to play cricket two times this week. I am going to play it two times because one of my cousins has invited me to come over to his house to play the game. I have been doing the preparation from the last 10 days in order to play the match well. I am good bowler, but I cannot play well with the bat. I think the primary reason is that I want to hit each ball for six and this gets me out, each time I come on to the crease.

I feel very good after playing the game. It makes me energetic and also makes me happy. This game is a good way to socialize with my friends and the achievement of hitting a six is just awesome. I think that every person in this world should play some kind of sport because it a very good form of exercise.
